Fish was a sweet guinea pig who my boyfriend bought from an owner, that does not seem to do her research. When my boyfriend bought her, she was five months old with two babies. She was underweight, previous owner did not give her hay, only pellet, around three times a day, which explains why she was underweight.

And it probably did not help with her childbirth, I supposed her small body couldn't tolerate the stress. Yet, she was always a good girl.

Recently, we took her to the vet because she was drooling. The vet diagnosed that she had an ulcer, and he prescribed to us a topical treatment and one antibiotic. I didn't know if this type of antibiotic is harmful or not, but my boyfriend said that she got weaker after he gave him the medicine. I will attach the picture of the medicines.

Today, she passed away on my boyfriend's lap, leaving us and her two babies behind.

My boyfriend only had her for two weeks, but we still cried for her because she was such a sweet girl.

Goodbye sweet Fish, we will try our best to care for your babies. May you have a better life up there.

I'm really sorry for your loss, it sounds like she got the right help but sadly too late. Unfortunately if she has never been fed hay there was likely a raft of health problems as a result. Try to take some comfort in the knowledge that in those last two weeks she saw proper care and knew what love was and that she is no longer suffering

I am so sorry for the loss of yo your beautiful piggy. Please try and take solace in the fact in her time with you she knew such love and was cherished. Big hugs x

sleep well pretty girl

RIP Fish
x x

I am so sorry to hear about poor Fish.
But you and your boyfriend did a good job making her last few weeks as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
At least she died knowing she was loved

So sorry that you have lost little Fish, you gave her all the love and care you could in those short two weeks and she will have known that x
Sleep tight gorgeous girl x

I am sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl. You did all you could but sometimes you can't put right the damage caused by a bad start in life.

How old are her babies, if they are very young you may need to step in with some extra support for them please read the information in this link. https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...pport-feeding-orphans-and-tiny-babies.159468/
Thank you for the link, I have a read, and hopefully we can take care of them until they reach adulthood. We will try our best :) The babies will be three weeks old this Sunday, they are eating and drinking normally, but I will still check if there are any other problems just in case

Thank you everyone for the kind words, it still feels unreal that such sweet guinea pig is no longer with us, but we will try our best for her sake to care for her babies

RIP our sweet Fish, may you have a better life up there with hay and all the other food you love

I'm sorry for your loss. She'll be watching her babies from the rainbow bridge. Sending virtual hugs:hug:

So very sorry that you lost Fish.
Hold onto the fact that you filled her last weeks with so much love and care.
Those babies have the best possible chance of a great life with you.
Be gentle with yourselves as you grieve
