Goodbye Fudge

I very sadly had to have Fudge put to sleep on Wednesday. He was the first guinea pig that we brought and he started my fascination with pigs, 13 pigs later and its all thanks to Fudge. He was only 3 1/2 years old but we noticed that he was drinking loads and losing weight rapidly and the vet believed he was in organ failure so we made the decision to put him down. It was heartbreaking and i miss him dearly, his companion Yorkie is also suffering but when he is more settled i planned to get him neutered and then he can live with my 2 indoor females.

As for Fudge, i have his ashes and they will be scattered on the foundations of my new purpose built guinea pig shed and run and i am going to name it Fudge's Freedom.

I am so sorry - the first piggy is always special. My own only lived that long, but she left huge paw prints in my heart!

What a lovely and suitable memorial to Fudge!
