We lost Georgia yesterday

I don't know what happened

She seemed like she was getting better

One day last week she seemed like she was breathing a little heavy
Then she seemed like she was getting better but obviously not

I'm kicking myself because I was talking just on Saturday about whether I should take her to the vet and the next day she was gone.

Maybe if I had listened to my instinct I could have done something to save her
But I know I shouldn't think like that
Guineas get poorly so quickly

I'm heartbroken
We lost Taini a few weeks earlier so the herds down to just two now.

I'm now wondering if she couldn't handle the heat we've had this weekend

I was so paranoid about today being hot as well that I've stayed home from work to keep an eye on the piggies

In the end I've decided to bring them inside because I just don't want to risk them getting too hot.

Georgia I'm so sorry I was such a bad piggie mum, I promise to look after your sister better.

Goodbye little one, your personality was just too big for this world.
Your reunited with Taini on the rainbow bridge now,
I know you've missed her so much.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Please don't blame yourself, you are obviously a brilliant piggie slave. I doubt very much a vet visit would have helped at all she went so quickly on very vague symptoms. It's as well to have the others indoors, my boars live in a cool north facing room and are wondering why they are not getting grass time at the moment.
RIP georgia.
 
I am so sorry for your loss, please don't beat yourself up. Piggies hide illness very well as they are prey animals. Irrational guilt is part of grief, but you are not to blame.. Huge hugs

Oh lass I'm so sorry to hear about your piggie. Sometimes theirs no rhym or reason for many things. Heat Food Tummy etc. These beautiful animals are so delicate it's hard to say sometimes. i wonder about my guy I lost. Was it food takin him to vet stress. We end up beating ourselves up. Try not to. Remember the great piggie she was and Georgia and Taini are at peace and whooping it up at Rainbow land.

I keep expecting to see her whenever I so see the piggies.

I guess it's a burden we all know too well.
 
Yes a Burden. i personally think it's cos we love them so much. it's a empty sad feelin. I miss my guy so much. i struggle each day but I know it get better. His photos and videos I will watch again. Bless all them little loves. Try keep strong. xx
