I know a lot of you have seen the recent thread about my piggies Ginger and Noggin in the Gallery, and as so were aware that Ginger had become very sick. He really put up a fight and despite me telling him repeatedly that it was time to let go, he kept battling on. He reached the stage where he had no quality of life and this afternoon I made the agonising decision to take him to the vets and have him PTS.
He was my first piggy and I can't believe how much it hurts no longer having him here. I will never forget him.
Thank you everybody for your kind and supportive thoughts and words over these last few days. It's difficult to explain to most people just how attached you become to a piggy. This forum is so supportive.

Love Rachel x

It is so sad when you lose a piggie.Sleep well Ginger.

So sorry for your loss, rest free of pain little babe xx :rose

So sorry to hear about the loss of Ginger. I don't know why but for some reason losing your first piggy is incredibly painful & almost harder than piggies who come after them (& that is tough too). 8...8...8...8...

Know that Ginger will be running free over the bridge, being looked after by the piggies who have gone before him.

Hold onto your memories & treasure them.

Hugs & squeaks from my manly quintet

I'm sorry to hear about your Ginger, I'm sure you made your piggies life a great one, it must've been so difficult to make sure a hard decision, but you did the right thing.

I've never lost a pig, but people like you who take their own pig's welfare ahead of their own happiness are really nice to see.

RIP Ginger.

When a piggy comes into your life you are totally unprepared for the love and devotion that is felt towards these little animals. They very quickly bond with you and there is no going back. When the time comes for our furry friend to cross the bridge it is heartbreaking. ONly another piggy lover could understand what it is like to lose one of these little creatures . I know your decision must have been heard but it really would have been better for the piggy. Think of happy times you shared together and believe that he is at rainbow bridge playing withn all the other piggies. So Sorry

I'm so sorry to hear about Ginger, losing a piggie is an awful feeling and i do think its difficult for people who don't have them to understand just how attached you become.

Rest in peace little one and run free with the other piggies over rainbow bridge - you'll always be loved and remembered.

xx
