I had Maya, my Lymphoma piggie, put to sleep this morning. She stopped eating yesterday. She had also stopped talking to me during cuddle- time, and indeed seemed to find cuddles uncomfortable, if not painful. She had no quality of life and just sat with her nose in the corner of her grass hut. She had lost one third of her body weight and was just skin and bone. It had been seven weeks since she had first been diagnosed with Lymphoma- something of a record. I buried her in the back garden. It seemed so wrong to cover something so beautiful with dirt. Goodbye, Maya, my beautiful beautiful girl. My heart is in pieces. Bonnie, sister Inka and I will all miss you painfully. Sleep peacefully now.

Oh no, I am so sorry. You really did all you could for her and kept her happy for as long as possible with this horrible disease. We lost a piggy to Lymphoma. You helped her when she needed you the most and that is such an selfless act of love on your part to put her before your pain of losing her, you are a credit to her. She was beautiful. Massive hugs to you at this sad time

Sleep well pretty girl

RIP Maya

I am so very sorry to hear your sad news :( Maya was a very brave girl and that was very much helped by your love and dedication to her.

As you know, I lost my Erika to lymphoma just a few weeks ago. It really is an awful illness :(

My thoughts are with you.

Sleep tight Maya xx

I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye to your sweet girl. You cared for her so well, and made the loving decision to let her go when she was no longer enjoying life.

Popcorn free over the Bridge, Maya. xx

I'm so sorry that you had to help Maya to the Bridge. It's heartbreaking but you have done the kindest thing for her. She looks beautiful in your photo. Try to remember her at her glamorous best and not as she became at the end. Huge hugs to you x

So sorry to hear this,I just buried my Rabbit the other day, putting him in the ground just seemed so cold and sad I know what you mean by that.

Thank you all for your very kind words. The house is so quiet now without Maya. She would start wheeking for food when she heard me moving about downstairs. Yesterday, I felt like nothing else mattered after she had gone. I wanted to tell everyone to get stuffed! Not good when you work in a shop! I'm feeling a bit better today. Her sister, Inka, is doing okay. She has Bonnie in the adjacent cage so is not lonely. I hope to get them together one day. Once again, thank you all. I know you understand.

She looked gorgeous. Its very hard letting a piggy go and its very upsetting having to make the decision but you know in your heart of hearts it was the right time. You've done the kindest thing for her, the first was giving her a quality of life, not all piggies receive.

Popcorn free little Maya. x

I am so sorry to hear this :( Letting them go is the hardest but kindest thing we can do, and the last true act of love we can show them.

Sleep tight beautiful x

Sending you big hugs. Letting them go is so hard they leave such a big hole in our hearts. RIP little Maya.

I am ever so sorry. It is always a gutting decision, even if it is the very last and kindest gift.

RIP Maya
