Adult Guinea Pig
I had Maya, my Lymphoma piggie, put to sleep this morning. She stopped eating yesterday. She had also stopped talking to me during cuddle- time, and indeed seemed to find cuddles uncomfortable, if not painful. She had no quality of life and just sat with her nose in the corner of her grass hut. She had lost one third of her body weight and was just skin and bone. It had been seven weeks since she had first been diagnosed with Lymphoma- something of a record. I buried her in the back garden. It seemed so wrong to cover something so beautiful with dirt. Goodbye, Maya, my beautiful beautiful girl. My heart is in pieces. Bonnie, sister Inka and I will all miss you painfully. Sleep peacefully now.
