My pet 'lutino' cockatiel Noddy died on Sat 19th May 2007. :'( He was 26 (2 years older than me) which is a good age. Average age is around 15 but have been known to live to beyond 20 or even 30!.

He was such a cheeky little chappy and would always like to have a good chat and whistle! Accompanied by some head nodding! ;)

RIP my little 'Noodle'. You were part of our lives for such a long time and you leaving us so suddenly was such a shock. We will miss you so much. You were one of the 'originals' and now you've gone to rainbow bridge. Its so strange and quiet without you here but I know Ben (dog) and Socks (cat) will be up there to look after you until I see you all again. My little piggies miss you too as you were their 'flatmate'.

Goodbye Nod.... sweet dreams xxxxx 0:)

I'm so sorry for your loss, especially after so many years with you, RIP :'(

ah! The silence is deafening when you lose a bird isn't? sorry to hear you lost Noddy after so long, but what a good age for a bird! I lost my "tweet" last year and still think I hear him when I'm in the kitchen sometimes.......

Sorry for your loss x

I'm so very sorry to hear that Noddy has gone to the bridge :'( :'( :'( :'(
RIP Noddy :'( :'( :'(
Awww the piggies have lost their friend too :'( :'(

Thanks everyone. He was a special little guy. Thought he deserved a mention even though it's a piggie forum. Bless his little heart.

I'll try and post a pic of him soon (been trying but it says it takes up too much memory) ?.

Bye bye baby bird :-*

I have a cockatiel who lives at my parents house still. He was a minimum of 5 when we got him & I was at primary school at the time. The youngest he can be is 25yrs old :o

I hadn't thought about the silence when a bird dies............. :'(

so sorry for your loss,he lived to a great age and must of been well loved and cared for x

So sorry to hear about Noddy. Wow, 26 years is a long time, no wonder you miss him. Goes to show you must have given him a great deal of love and care for him to reach such a fine age.

Here's a picture of our little Nod... we miss you so much

It is... very strange. Everytime I go past where his cage was I always turn my head to see him... but he's not there. Its so automatic.... well suppose Ive been doing it for 23 years since I was born :( Also sometimes I think I can hear him chirp when I'm upstairs. Itsa really strange feeling. Different to when my dog and cat died cos they were always in different places and didnt make as much noise!

It was definately an end of an era when he died. He was a little character!

Thanks for all your lovely comments :) (sorry its not the best of photo's)

Hi - thanks for sending this link. Ive already seen it on another thread... its lovely. Its sad cos it makes the 'rainbow bridge' more visual - if you know what I mean! :'(

Awww... I miss all my pets so much. Hopefully they are up there having fun and one day will look after my little piggies. I'm dreading those days when they will leave me... but rainbow bridge sounds like such a wonderful place. I'm sure they'll be ok and they'll be looked after by all the other piggies up there and my dog Ben, cat Socks (Socksy) and little Nod. Trying not to think about it yet. :(

oooh sorry... I had to move poor little Nod's file on photobucket (bit of organising!)... here he is again.

Thanks Boureki... ;)
he was in lovely condition for his age. No bald patches or scraggyness to him at all. It was just old age that caught up with him in the end. He was a lovely little character!

When I can (on a separate thread) I'll put a tribute to my other pets.
