about 20 minutes ago I had to bury my beloved Thumper. She was one of a pair, and was the sweetest little girl ever. She died of unknown cause (breeder said she was 6 months old when we got her, had her for 4 months now) and it's absolutely heartbreaking. Her sister (not actual sister) Bugsy hasn't showed signs of grieving yet, (but it has only been 20 minutes) and I'm not sure if I should get her another guinea pig in a little bit (like in 2 weeks or so). If any of you have gone through this or have any tips it would be greatly aprieciated

Really sorry for your loss. If you don't know what caused the heath I would take bugsy to the vet for a check over before introducing any new pigs to make sure there isn't something there that can affect any new piggies too. Unfortunately though these things do happen even at a young age.

Some piggies don't show grief, I remember putting isobels body back with daisy, two mins later I found daisy sat on isobels head munching hay! To be honest it's better for us humans if they cope well with the death because it means we don't need to move as urgently to get them a new companion and it gives us a couple of weeks to be able to grieve ourselves

I am so sorry for the loss of your piggy.

Sleep well little one

RIP Thumper

It’s so heartbreaking to lose any guinea pig never mind such a young one.
As @Lady Kelly said, do have your other piggy vet checked to make sure she’s not unwell too as it is very hard to spot Health problems in a piggy.
If she is ok you could get her a friend in a couple of weeks or so if you feel able to.
She will feel better with another piggy to keep her company. Xx
