Junior Guinea Pig

BUFFY (on the right 21/10/12-31/08/14)
Lost my baby girl Buffy this morning. Just about 3-4 days ago I noticed her crusty eye and brought her to the vet yesterday as she was still eating and drinking fine but just a lil lethargic. She was diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday and vet says its not looking good. I did not trust her as I managed to keep URI from taking my other baby away so I thought this should be easy. But for one good day shes started wheezing badly and refused my force feeding so I brought her to the vet again today and while they tried to give her oxygen to aid her breathe she went down. She did not even respond to resuscitation and I lost her in such a short span of time. Though I harbour a little resentment towards her for not fighting back to give me an opportunity to take care for her till her golden years but I believe she has hung in there long enough and decided to let go all together as even if she did pull through she will need to undergo surgery to trim her bottom molars as its starting to overgrow.
I can go on and on about my lil girl but I guess I just need to learn to let go.
Lastly to Buffy, mama really adore you and you will always have a special place in mama's heart. Take good care over at rainbow bridge baby <3

Its with heavy heart that I'm posting for a second time on the passing of my beloved baby girl, Ruffy.
Lifes been hard on her right from the start as shes suspected to be a runt of the litter. Being significantly smaller than the rest shes always being picked on by the bigger girls and became very skittish.
Early may she was diagnosed with URI but managed to overcome it and in two months time shes finally off all medications. Unfortunately she later developed ear infection in her left ear which require cleaning twice daily with antibiotic ear drop. I felt really bad for my lil girl but it was absolutely heartening to see her starting to display traits of a happy piggy despite the ear condition. Its been another two months and suddenly she had slight head tilt that lasted less than a minute last sunday and the vet suggested ear flushing on Monday. After the flushing Ruffy became very moody and kept hiding in her hidey hole but still she managed to finish half her dinner so I thought maybe shes just a lil stressed up.
This morning shes disoriented, kept rolling around her cage and couldn't stand up. I rushed her to the vet and they say Ruffy's in a pretty critical condition with seizures and I have to decide if her condition worsen will I wanna do a cpr or dnr on her. She was really in a very sorry state and I couldnt bear to see her like that any much longer hence I decided to euthanize her.
As much as I felt like I killed my own baby but its just something I had to force myself to do. I'm really sorry to have to make such a decision on behalf of her as we know piggys can go down quite fast and vet agrees that shes not looking too good and is starting to have breathing difficulty.
Lastly to baby Ruffy, mama will always remember you for being a feisty fighter fighting off URI and the happy days we shared while you were in the pink. You will be dearly missed and deeply kept and locked in mama's heart. Love you baby and run free at rainbow bridge with your friend Buffy
