Zorro had been struggling with dental issues to a while and we were faced with a hard decision to make. But the best thing for his wellbeing was to let him go. He's had the best 3 years that I could give him.

I am so very sorry that you have had to make the most heart-breaking decision of all. Thanks to you Zorro has had a lifetime's worth of love and good care and the best of piggy lives that you could give him. Guinea pigs don't have a concept for an average life span but they have very much a concept for what makes a good and fulfilled life.
We can sadly never choose for how long we have our pets and in which form the end comes. But we can always make that shared time with them as happy and filled with love as possible.

Thank you all, I really appreciate all the kind replies. 
The way his back teeth and jaw was growing, he was inevitably not going to make it to 4 years old. I just hope I've given him the best 3 and a half years possible, which he deserved to have. He was truly a beautiful piggy with the sweetest personality.
