Well after a few weeks I noticed wiggy has started to pong like cheese.
I thought I must bath him at some point but couldn't pin point where the smell was coming from.
Teddy was ok, he didn't smell cheesy.

So today I sit down and look online at how to bath male pigs :vom: Anyway what I thought were his testicles are the sacs? So cotton buds, syringe, swarfega and two towels at the sink I was ready to take on the sac challenge.

Oh my goodness! :vom::vom::vom: Thick white cheese substance all inside as well as bits of hay. The smell was awful, poor boy. He's around 10 months old and I've never done it before until now. Properly that is.
His grease gland is nice and clean.

Teddy was up next although he is around 6 months old he did have a whiff and cheese stuff inside his sac along with hay.
His grease gland wasn't as bad and both boys were very well behaved.
Claws were done too.

How often should I clean out the sacs?
And is the thick cheese stuff that came out normal? Not all of it would come off and I didn't want to keep on at wiggy incase I made him sore. I was at it for 10 mins.
Also the grease gland does it remain a dark colour or should that be completely cleaned away, some bits broke away.

Thanks
Amy

I've never noticed my boys smelling like that :hmm: They've got a normal piggy smell

They smell sweet now well it was only wiggy, teddy smelt lush. It was just around wiggys sac area I'd get that cheesy whiff.
All good now though :tu:

Eww just googled sacs and ohmigod you have to clean those out!? :vom::vom::vom::flag:

Personally I would only do it when they need doing as if you mess too much you can cause damage so if they smell clean them if not leave. I only do my boys as and when they need doing and in some cases its not at all. I find more dominant piggies tend to have dirtier boar bits :))
