Adult Guinea Pig
it is with such a heavy heart that i write this thread today. my poor Lily was taken ill last week with suspected lymphoma. she became very weak overnight and had not been eating by herself so was being syringe fed. this had very quickly become a big struggle to feed her. although she was weak she managed to find the strength to fight me off when i tried to feed her. she was losing weight and the lymph nodes were getting bigger all the time. she spent yesterday hunched up in her hutch with her back to us. she had no fight left in her. i made the heart wrenching decision this morning to let her go. i couldn't watch her suffer anymore and the vet agreed. her little body was shutting down. she was only born on 15th march this year so was almost 7 months old. she has gone to join her little brother Chas who sadly passed away suddenly at only 12 weeks old.
i'm so sorry Lily that i couldn't do more to help you. you had such a short life but i am sure you were happy in the time you were here. my beautiful Max the rabbit and Pippa the guinea pig who have also passed away in recent months will look after you for eternity now - something i'm afraid i was unable to do. god bless you little girl - sleep tight now. i will always remember youhttp://
