So yesterday I lost my beloved little Bandit Bum. After going off his food rapidly on Tuesday he was syringe fed and watered. He picked back up to his usual self Wednesday but yesterday he was taken to the vets to have his teeth done and all of a sudden went limp, lifeless and generally unresponsive. He was put onto fluids and oxygen but to no avail. He was pts at around 1pm. The vet said he has the start of malocclusion, I feel the most awful pet owner that I did not pick up on this or realise. After having them for 10 years of owning several guinea pigs it shows we are always learning. The vet mentioned heart problems are commonly linked to malocclusion. I'm just glad he can run free over rainbow bridge. Free of pain and discomfort. I will miss him always my cheeky little nugget. How they break our hearts ay!

Goodnight deesty ❤ x

So sorry. He was beautiful.Don't beat yourself up, you did your best

Can't help but beat myself up. Makes it harder as he was a rescue. But he had a wonderful life in a huge cage, plenty of toys and houses and snuggly beds, friends all around him and most of all he was dearly loved. x

I am so very sorry for your loss, please dont be hard on yourself. Piggies hard illness very well unfortunately as they are prey animals. He was loved and cherished in life and that is all of us can every truly want out of life. Massive hugs

Sleep well little one

RIP Bandit

:( So sorry you lost your lovely little Bandit. Please don't feel too bad about it. You did everything you could to save him. Peaceful dreams, Bandit. :bye:

Hi guys.

Haven't been on in a while due to pirates poorly eye and other animal related issues (escaping chinchillas and a rescued blackbird). Thank you for all your comments. He was buried in our little guinea pig cemetery with his other buddies. At least he is pain free and at peace now. x
