So yesterday I lost my beloved little Bandit Bum. After going off his food rapidly on Tuesday he was syringe fed and watered. He picked back up to his usual self Wednesday but yesterday he was taken to the vets to have his teeth done and all of a sudden went limp, lifeless and generally unresponsive. He was put onto fluids and oxygen but to no avail. He was pts at around 1pm. The vet said he has the start of malocclusion, I feel the most awful pet owner that I did not pick up on this or realise. After having them for 10 years of owning several guinea pigs it shows we are always learning. The vet mentioned heart problems are commonly linked to malocclusion. I'm just glad he can run free over rainbow bridge. Free of pain and discomfort. I will miss him always my cheeky little nugget. How they break our hearts ay!
