Elphie passed away yesterday morning, but I was too upset then to write the tribute she deserves.
Elphie was a lively little thing, and what she lacked in size, she more than made up for in personality. She was such a character - intrigued by everything, we had to keep a close eye on her else she'd be up to no good! Not content with chilling out in the cosies with her friends, Elphie would often go exploring while I cleaned out their houses. She never stayed still for very long, she always seemed to have ants in her pants. When I went out into the garden, she was always the first to greet me, and always shouted the loudest for food. At dinnertimes, she would sit on my lap because she was so impatient, and on more than one occasion, I've had to fish her out of the hay bag after she nose-dived in! She was also fearless; she'd often go nose-to-nose with our dog, Charlie, and even gave him a kiss once!
She leaves behind her 'sister', Glinda, and her good friends Elma, Clara and Missy. She never really had the opportunity to meet our new girls, Peri, Martha & Rose, but no doubt my feisty little ginge would have put them in their place. She joins Freddie, Ringo, Nelson, River, Amy, Ace, and Nellie over the Rainbow Bridge.
