I lost my little charlie on 23.09.2010, he was only 7 months old. Sadly he had a systemic fungal infection which got caught to late, because vets no nothing about pigs :( i tried everything i could but he was just too weak. He had the cutest little hairdo and he just wanted to be held all day long. He squeeked for his food and when you walked up the stairs.

I'll miss you so much charlie pig you were amazing little man :(

It might be useful to enquire for an exotics or very experienced piggy vet (guinea pigs are classed as such) within your area. Can you asked your nearest rescues who they use or can recommend?

I have searched high and low for a specialist! Its driving me mad! Hehe, I work in a vets and they don't know anything about piggies or know anyone who does. I got my pigs from irene @ cavy haven but she doesnt know a specialist round here. I am goin to do the GBAR course to help me with my training as a veterinary nurse and for my own benefit. I spoke to Vedra about Charlie and thats the only way i managed to get a good diagnosis for him, Vedra only knew one rodentologist in my area but unfortunately they have stopped doing it now. If you know of anyone in cheshire area it would be a great help :) xxxxxxx
