Junior Guinea Pig
We said goodbye to our darling Saul at the end of June. I’ve not had it in me to post something before.
He came to live with us as a friend for Athy. From the first moment they met, he loved her. He would lay down next to her and never left her side. He then moved in with Callie and Hessi when Athy died.
I know you’re not supposed to have favourites, but Saul was my favourite. He was so friendly and curious. He was happy for a stroke and actively sought human attention, coming to the side for a fuss whenever you were in the room. He had so many quirks, like really loud, angry wheeting when the food bowl was empty and he always did lots of zoomies and popcorning even when he was an old man. He had a real sweet tooth and a thing for very fluffy lady guins.
I knew he couldn’t live forever, but it doesn’t feel right that he’s gone. He’s left a big gaping hole in my heart.
Goodbye Saul. I will love you forever and I miss you so much
