After a tough week, we finally made the choice to let Sunny go.

Some of you may have seen my posts about his illness here this week. Sadly, he deteriorated dramatically last night. After a long evening in the vets, we thought it would be kinder to let him waddle over the rainbow bridge than prolong his life, which wasn't much in the past few days.

He was my first piggy.
I fell for him the moment I saw his googly eyes and giant, floppy ears. He turned out to be the fluffiest ball grumpiness, rumble-struting his little booty all over our hearts. I'm missing him so much right now but I know we made the right choice tonight, as much as it killed us.

He went peacefully to sleep surrounded by Mammy, Daddy and his little pal Lola.

We love you Sunny Hughie Anthony, enjoy that big meadow on the other side <3 <3

So sorry that you had to make that tough decision.
Sunny was such a lovely piggy and he will leave a hole in your heart.
Be gentle with yourself now and give yourself time to grieve.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

My partner is taking it harder than I thought he would but we're going to be ok, we still have our Lola to look after!

Speaking of Lola, although a little quieter than usual, she's doing OK. She eating and drinking, cuddling the blanket we had on Sunny in the vets. I dare say she'll bounce back quicker than us, she's a tough little cookie :)
