It is with a heavy heart I have to say we have just had to have my boy Ben put to sleep, he had an abcess for a few weeks now and I have been draining it daily along with antibiotics, he seemed to be doing fine, popcorning and shouting for breakfast every morning until yesterday when he suddenly stopped eating and was miserable the vet said it was the kindest thing to do.

We almost gave BEN up for adoption after his cage mate Giddy passed as I was concerned he would be sad and lonely, but he thrived alone. I'm glad he came from the rescue centre and spent his whole life with me!

I have no plans for more piggies, and want to thank you all for the invaluable advice and support. You should all be proud of this forum.

I am very sorry for your loss! It is always a very heart-breaking decision to make.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You did absolutely everything you could for him, and he had a wonderful life with you.

thank you all for your kind words they are very comforting, we have buried him in the garden beside Giddy xx

I'm very sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry to hear you won't be continuing with piggies any longer.
It was the best decision for him.
 
thanks Chief, I did love having them very much, but found it difficult caring for them went ill, ie having to hurt them by cleaning wounds etc. broke my heart!
