So I'm on my way back from emergency vet and to cut story short my piggy has low temperature around 35.6 celsius. He also is lethargic and does not eat (by mistake wrote the previous topic in welfare section) his teeth are a little overgrown and he is loosing weight. So the vet introduced powdered apetite booster, beytrill and syringe feeding. Goofy also had fluids injected as despite us giving him water through syringe he was a little dihadrated. So to keep his temp i was advised ti wrap him in bubble wrap and put blankets i have underfloor heating so will turn it up a little. Vets unsure wats wrong so maybe one of you had experiance with similar case?

No, my piggies have never had that. Sorry. I hope Goofy gets well soon xx Pete hopes so too!

Many illnesses can result in a pig not being able to regulate body temp and a low temp wll make them lethargic.

Were any tests on his urine done. How cavy savvy is your vet. How long has he not been eating well? If he is not eating at all you will need to get 120ml of syringe feed in over a 24hr period, hopefully the gut stimulant will help.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I am so sorry for your loss! You have tried your best, but it is hard when small animals are severely ill as Goofy obviously was with only vague signs of what was wrong with him.

RIP Goofy

I'm sorry for your loss. In my experience, dropping temp and lethargy and refusing food/water is often a sign that the body is shutting down and that the end is near. RIP Goofy.

So sorry for your loss. RIP Goofy
