Vincents poo is coming out goopy (best way i can describe it) and smelly :(. hes still eating and drinking and being his usual vincent self when being held. Ive put in extra hay so hes kept warm and cleaning so hes not in a mess.

yesterday i did use megazorb instead of vet bed, but hes been on the zorb before, he also had cherry tomatoes for the 1st time yesterday

what else can i do to help him and I'm also assuming hes needs to go to the vet pronto

I'd stop the veg personally just to be on the safe side, its more likely to be the tomato than the megazorb i think, do you have an dioralyte? You could syringe him a bit of this it may help. I'd get him to the vets as soon as possible, he'll need rehydration. Some pigs do get goopy poo bouts and are fine but its better to be safe than sorry :) x

hes not going to be too happy about not getting veg ;D unfortunalty i dont have any dioralyte.

Maybe give him a little carrot or turnip, I'm not sure but i'd stay clear of greens and things like brocolli :) hope he's ok x

Do you have any probiotic such as biolapis? If so syringe him some of that. If he's eating his pellets i wouldnt syringe food but i think it might be worth syringing him some water every so often just to keep his fluids up :) x

i had this with bob before, when he reacted badly to a certain veggie (i.e. red pepper), so maybe he's just funny with cherry tomatoes. if cutting his veggies doesnt help, I'm off to P@H tomorrow, so u can come if you want and ask the vets for some biolapis?

yeah if itll help have normal poos ill come with and ask for some.
Thanks jnenbnb ill shall make sure hes getting enough fluids

ah vincent why are you a little trouble maker.

biolapis is what bob had when he had the terrible mites and the antibiotics made him really ill. looks like your feeding cid seperate tonight ;D

One of ours occasionally gets sporadic soft and smelly poos, and on the few times it happens, it usually passes within the day, and has only once developed into diahorrea which cleared up in a few days after some assistance. I'm suspecting its down to a veg he's not agreeing with, we've not been able to isolate which veg it is, but he's never out of sorts and troughs away, as it sounds like yours it doing. However, as we lost two seemingly healthy young lads to diahorrea very suddenly, I'm never complacent. Try not to panic yet, but keep an eye on it, and seek assistance if it gets any worse. Place some extra fresh, extra tasty good quality Orchard Grass or Timothy Hay to tempt them and it should help it along a bit.

poop update

the poops are solid and normal shaped but thicker and slighty softer than his normal ones they also aren't as smelly as the goopy poo.
I have put in lots of fresh timothy hay which both him and his cagemate Cid are happily munching away on also not givin him veg for this evening (Cid had his evening veg and decided to thank me in pee and poo 98) )

no more cherry tomatoes for Vincent from now on

poop update

vincent's poops are normal this morning YAY :smitten: (hmmm perhaps I'm happier then i shoudl be about poop 98) )

;D glad he's better :) might be worth getting some bio lapis in still incase it happens again, its only cheap i think :)

Oh no, poor Vincent :( :( :(
glad to hear he's feeling a little better now :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Cherry tomatoes they love them, but i've found they can give tummy upsets..... :-\ Sully used to adore them and never had a problem but Duke if he eats too many can have an off day right after it so i only ever give them to him once or twice maybe a week and then not for awhile O0
Best of luck love O0
Healing wheeks and loves from us both to help him :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
