All my piggies are due a bath again so I'm just putting my order in @ gorgeous guineas x)

As always i like to look @ million different types / potions and came across melts - you leave on for 20 minutes ?/

- il admit when i think of a guinea pig melt i see a guinea pig sat there for 20 minutes all foamed up and fizzing lol - yes i have a strange imagination

Has anyone ever used one ? it sounds like itd be good for one of my older piggys that has a bit of dry skin

Thanks in advance------ :)

oOO! I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread as I would also like to know the answer to this too :)

Yep. I used the coco and neem melt on Rodders. It smells lush!

I cant remember why I used it :{ I think it was to de-grease his oil gland at bath time, cos he never had any skin conditions. I would put that on and leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with their shampoo. His coat was always soft and fluffy afterwards

melts are good for sore or dry piggy feet, and also conditioning pigs with long or tangly hair :) it's just an oily cream that you apply.

Oh right thankyou everyone - is it something you have be certain they dont lick off ?

Sorry for the questions i just like to know what I'm doing lol

:(|) Sounds lovely. I put GG foot balm on the piggies feet after their baths - dunno why really (gives me an excuse to stroke their tiny little paws I think mallethead....love little piggy feet x) :x)

Ooh in not sure, but the lady at GG is really helpful and will tell you. I'm sure it said on the tub "do not eat" but I dont think she puts anything in her products that would harm the piggies. best to check with her though.

I've used the coco and neem melt on Mabel and Dottie when I was battling with mites. I must admit the girls were very patient but clearly didn't enjoy it! It smells quite strong and they were trying to lick it off...I then panicked as I wasn't sure it was a good idea for them to ingest it, however they were both fine. I washed them twice afterwards with the manuka shampoo but they were still a little greasy afterwards. It did the job and whilst i'm sure they both hated it, they felt better for it in the long run. I wouldn't use it though if your piggies skin is fine, only if you suspect mites or fungal. I emailed Chrissie about the products and she is extremely helpful. Hope this helps! :))

I have used them as well and found them really effective. Their coats are amazing afterwards. I have used them for mites and also the beginnings of fungal and each time they have cleared up the issue without any problems at all. The guineas do try to 'clean' themselves whilst its on but they have been fine. Thoroughly recommend them and Chrissie is incredibly helpful.
