Just thought i would post this on incase anyone else was having the same problem.
I have 2 guinea pigs paul and wayno and paul tends to suffer with a bit of dry skin on his ears and a scabby nose.
We have had a trip to the vets previuosly but this time i wanted to see if i could treat it with out medication
i went on the the Gorgeous Guineas website and ordered some kwench lotion for the dry skin on ear and F&M ointment for his nose got to say the its been fabulous the ear has completely cleared up in just 3 days and the nose is looking much better all ready too.

Would definately recommend a look as they are reasonable and sell trail sizes too which for a Guinea is plenty

Gorgeous Guineas have some good products for minor ailments, as long as you aware that they do not replace a vet visit, diagnosis and proper treatment course when it comes to fungal skin infections and skin parasites with bald patches. Please do not home treat on spec unless you really know what you are about. Like pet shop, Gorgeous Guineas do not sell (and are not allowed to sell!) medications and medicating products, only supportive care and conditioning ones for minor issues.

I do link to them when appropriate, by the way. By the sound of it, your piggy is suffering from mild fungal. Please keep an eye on them, in case they return.

I love gorgeous guineas! I really ought to do something for my girlies dry skin. I don't really like to put anything on them but they do get a bit of dandruff occasionally. The trouble is they don't like baths/manhandling too much :))

I can assure you that my piggies landed on their feet when they where rehomed by me and that the verts is on speed dial if need be

That's really good! My pigs are fine UNLESS you're trying to do something to them like nail clip, medicine or ointment etc :)) Then they become massive wriggle monkeys XD

thank you for your good advice and I already visited that website, but what I wonder is: why is it not possible to read the label of those products? I am sure that there are a lot of good products on sale with the same substances, maybe not specific for piggies, but equally good. I am washing my piggies with a eco friendly product I buy at a cheap supermarket. The soap is totally free of chemicals, parabens, detergents, toxic elements; its INCI is perfect but it is a not known product. The result on their skin and hair is awasome, better than specific products for piggies... The same line has also lotions and who knows? they could be effective on piggies, too, as much as it was on my daughters' hands which were badly irritated. I am talking of a "eco-green" and natural product which costs only 2-3€...
There is a great business around beauty products...
