I have got my nan and grandad coming over this afternoon, is it wrong for me to be worried about what they outwardly or secretly think of the pig's?

This will be the first time they would have been to see me at my house. The pig's cage litterally takes up half of my living room which is really teeny tiny, so god knows where they will all sit, i will have to get a garden chair in for my gdad to sit on anyway as he is disabled and will never get up from my small low down sofa, so that is going to make it look alot smaller! Obviously the pig's dont smell, apart from the hay which may smell to people not used to it, and animal lovers always associate piggies with being hutched outdoor animals, so i just wonder what they are going to think.

They know we have guinea pig's and i think they know they are indoors, but my nan is very houseproud and would never have guinea pig's in her house ever! So i just wonder if she is going to imagine smells or something - ? Lol sounds weird i know.

My house is always immaculately clean and tidy anyway so i dont see why they would think badly....

I think i'm just being stupid!

You're not being stupid. It is understandable to be apprehensive and wonder what people will think.

My piggies live outdoors in a large hutch but my living room is home to two gerbils, a hamster, fishies, a degu and a cat.

Our house is tiny ( a two up, two down) and every surface in the living room is occupied by an animal. I often worry what people will think when they come round especially as the room can sometimes smell a little 'rodenty' especially when it gets close to clean out day.

The cat also swans around like he owns the place!

At the end of the day though, it is YOUR house and your animals are a part of it. If people don't like it, it is their problem and not yours :)

Well they were cleaned out and bathed last night anyway, so if they complain about smell then they are making it up lol.

I know your right, but you dont know what people say do you? I dont want them to think badly or anything, not that they would i think i am over thinking it, your right, its my house and my animals are there anyway regardless of what they think. They dont ever smell, like i say, they might be able to smell the hay but thats it.

I only have a studio and the girls have all the space as they are in a 3 by 8 c and c cage. I never have visitors as there is no space here but sometimes my mum will pop by. She thinks the piggies have taken over and have all the space. She said she would not feel comfortable eating in my place as there is always hay around and the odd poop from my bunny as they do have accidents. I was offended but then who cares what people think. My babies come first and I know yours do to you.

Well we dont very often have visitors either, we do our entertaining at our caravan when were there as most of the major family also have caravan's near by so when were there at the same time this is when we get together lol,

My nan is no animal lover - (dont get me wrong she would never see any harm come to any animal) but i dont want them feeling uncomfortable in my home - not that they should.

Our house is kind of like a studio, the living room and kitchen is open plan and tiny and upstairs is one big bedroom with a shower room. x

UPDATE:

I was worrying over nothing, they loved our little home and loved the piggies, Scrummy had my grandad in stitches, rolling around in her sock rolleyes i think he could have sat and watched them all day :))

Glad that it all went well.
My grandparents tolerate ours but don't find them cute or anything.
X

I dont think they found them cute, they would never cuddle or stroke them, but they did entertain my grandad, bless him. x
