Hello after a long break...

...the last time I posted was after my little Daisy had to be pts last November. I've been somewhat preoccupied since then - the title says it all! :) Never thought I'd meet 'Mr Right' at my exalted age (42) but I have and am very happy. Poor little Clover, though, has been an only pig since last autumn. Not fair, I know, but so much has been happening in my life! (on top of having M.E.) Now we are settled (with Glen, my husband's gorgeous border collie) it's time to give her a friend, and we're rescuing little Parsley (boar) from local RSPCA. Waiting for our home check them we can pick him up! A gentle introduction will be provided, of course. He's 2 months old, black and tan. Clover is similar colouring but older, at approx. 4 years. She was spayed due to bleeding ovarian cysts last year so no risk of pregnancy. Hope they bond ok.

Congratulations on your marriage! So glad that you met "Mr. Right" - I'm another late starter to married life; but the wait was worth it.

Nice to meet you (as I have come on since you were on last); I'm looking forward to hearing how Clover and Parsley are getting on. Please post pics if you can!

Welcome back and congratulations on your wedding. What a busy time youve had. Hope the piggies bond. You must be so excited. Looking forward to hearing more about them...

Hiya - another newbie since you were on here. I would also love to see photos and thank goodness your girl was spayed okay as you hear lots of stuff about how it's complicated for girls.

Congrats on getting married and also on your new baby piggy.

Hiya and welcome back. I remember when poor Daisy was PTS :(
It sounds like you have been very busy this last year. Congratulations on your wedding. I got married myself in August and am still getting use to being a Mrs :))
Good luck with your new boy. I can't wait to meet him xx

Congratulations on your wedding too Claire! Stiil waiting for home check then can get little Parsley and bring him home.

Had the home check this evening - we can bring Parsley home tomorrow!

I'll let him settle in a bit then will post pigtures.

He's home! And he's very cute...pictures to follow. He and Clover are in adjacent cages and have been sussing each other out. We put them together in the run for a few minutes today and within seconds Parsley had his nose up Clover's rear end. Clover was a little nonplussed! To begin with she ran away but then got braver and gave him a shove when he got annoying. I somehow thought that because she'd been spayed (ovarian cysts last year) he wouldn't react like that but obviously she smells interesting...

More run time tomorrow and we await further developments!

They're now in the same cage and seem fine - have been so for the last three days and no problems so far. At piggy playtime in the lounge yesterday they both hurtled round and round the sofa then when Clover stopped to have a nibble of some spinach Parsley just kept on going, wheeking with excitement! So cute.

Hi and welcome back from me too - also congratulations on your marriage, that's lovely news.

I had a boy called Parsley (his dad was Basil) - but yours sound like a happy couple, and it's great they've bonded so well.

Looking forward to pictures when they've settled.

Thanks Sueg.

I had a Basil too, at least 10 years ago. He was black, shiny and cute like Parsley!

Will get pictures up as soon as poss. I've got a great one on the camera of them both snuggled on my knee. Ahh!
