hello everyone.. thanx for the reply on my post yesterday. I say in a week time. But my friends bring them over last nite cos she needed to move her house in a few days.. Well they r so adorable But they afraid of me. When ever i try to pik them up they run like crazy . try to pat them first and hold them but still run away from me..
Cos its my first pet when they do that i feel scared aswell to hold them in case they get hurt or they will hurt me//

I guess i need to try a day at a time..

i post a pic of them soon gotta find a name aswell...

I think all piggies run, don't worry! Once you pick them up and cuddle them they will settle a bit and get used to you. I know how you feel though, it took me a while to realise that if my piggie nipped a bit it meant he wanted to get down off my lap for a wee, not that he didn't like me! Try offering them a bribe of some tasty veggies and they will associate your sound and smell with getting nice food and eventually come running when they hear you coming! I've got my piggie to run across the floor to me know whereas before he always used to hide... mind you, if I don't have a treat in my hand he runs off again, little monkey!
Try sitting next to their cage so that they can get used to your voice and smell, and then pop yur hand in the cage and let them sniff it... I'm only going from what I've found, I'm no expert! Only had my piggie for a few months!

Good luck!

Awww dont worry it just takes time to earn their trust.... As soon as they get used to you bringing their yummy veggies and giving them nice cuddles - they wont be scared of you anymore.... Just takes a while :)

:)

i guess so thanx for your replies..
still unable to hold them up cos they r afraid so i just sit near them and watch...

it turns out that my friend gav me a female and male. cos i brang them to the vet today and they did a 100% check up! NOw should i separate them? aww they look happy together, only when i try and pik them up. both r only 8wks old..

You will have to seperate them unfortunately... if they are definitely boy/girl. If the girl got pregnant now, it's bad because she'll be way too small! You could get your boy neutered though, and then they'd be fine together. It is a shame to split them up. In the mean time, you could put a partition between them or house them so they can still see each other, so they can still be friends... but not too friendly. Best to split them asap, sorry :(

Good luck with the handling, it will come with time (it's very unlikely they will hurt you!) :)

I've had two of mine since early Jan, they sutill run away from me! Just takes time for them to trust thats all. O0

I've had mine since Boxing day last year and they still run every time I walk into the room or make any sudden movements..it just takes a while for them to get used to you, that's all :) I can never catch mine either, so most of the time I'm a meany, I shove my hand in their house and get them out like that..it's that or them never having any floor/lap time. ;) I do occasionally manage to catch them though if I approach them really slowly, stroke them and then grab them..Pepper is really skittish and wont even let me stroke him inside the cage though at the moment. Don't give up hope ;)
