on Friday at 11. Fingers crossed everything goes ok, am actually a bit nervous ! all being well, Snowy then gets a vet check then we can collect her - poss at the week end !

good luck and i am sure you have nothing to be nervous about, i am sure you have everything you need to be ready and done your research so you will be fine

I'm ALWAYS nervous - never mind that I have been rehoming from four different rescues so far...

Just keep in mind that it is only to check that your set-up for the guinea pigs is adequate and that they are not ending up in a dump they need to be rescued from rather than rehomed to!

I have put the cage and run into the garden for now, poss will put them inside come winter. we have a fence up so the dogs cant get to them - they would do anything to them but dont want to scare the piggies !

the hutch is double storey 4ftx2ft and the run is 3ftx4ft

I am sure that you'll pass with flying colours - that's a proper piggy palace!

I hope so, the rescue dont often rehome piggies,so hope they arent looking for big bunny sized hutches

You'd pass my homecheck, anyway! Perhaps you could put a tarpaulin or similar on the hutch for now, so if it chucked it down with rain you could cover it from the elements? That's what I do with my outdoor hutches. Be prepared to answer what you'll do with them in winter, I know not everyone on here agrees with piggies being kept outside and some rescues insist on them being in a shed or outbuilding - some don't. Personally I have piggies indoors, outdoors and in a shed and they are all fit and healthy but I do try to get them all under cover in the winter months.

I'm sure you will be fine. I got a bit nervous on my homecheck but Jane was lovely (nutmeg) and we just chatted about piggies! As long as you have done your research which you clearly have then you'll be fine!

thanks, yes we have a tarpaulin on standby and we are definetly going to be bringing them in, come the winter

OOH I love your outdoor set up. It's ace. Really roomy and I bet you pass with flying colours. I just hope they see the vet that day and you get them the next.

Good luck for Friday ... however looking at your photos, I am sure you will be fine!

Look forward to hearing how things go.
