Got our first guinea pigs!

We picked up a 10 week old and 1 year old boar last night. They are very skittish at the moment but will be cuddled when they are finally caught. I have the hutch in the house at the moment while I try and figure out how to make the pieces of correx that I have stick together to make the right shape! I am so surprised at how big the 4x2 C&C actually is. I have had to revise where they are going to live in my living room!

The 10 week old is a beautiful red colour and I believe that the 1 year old is called an agouti (brown)

Looking forward to being able to show some pics of them in their new home. :) :)

We hae 4 guinea pigs we got in 2007. They are called Poppy, Fat Monkey, John and Catherine! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

How long does it take for them to start to come out from the corner! ;D

They were in a hutch in a shed. They are now in a C&C in the living room and they just huddle together in the corner!

They are fine to be handled once they are picked up but don't seeem to be interested in fresh veg etc and aren't popcorning etc........ ? ? ?
 
It's all very new to them, the sounds of being in a house. They'll get used to it eventually. Mine took a couple of days to venture out of their little house in waking hours and about a week before they got brave enough to stay out when I went near. It took quite a while for them to realise that it would be OK for them to stay out when I walked past but funnily enough, a lot less time for them to recognise the sound of the fridge door opening LOL ;)

they are great looking boys O0 they look really similar to eachother. hoping they are settling in and are now squeaking when a bag rustles and fridge door is opened. looks like mickey loves donald :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: handsome boys :-* :-* :-*
