Pizza & Parmo, their new names whilst with me though they had previous names but I'm not going to use them online in case their old owners stumble across the forum, but their old names were after boxers who I have never heard of. They are strictly foster pigs right now, though we may adopt them but not unless our shed gets built and the OH is protesting over animals given hes paying for the animals gear he does have a say in it. But moving on here they are. They are in good overall shape with lovely coats and with nice bright eyes, haven't handled them but their previous owner said they were 1.7kg last time she weighed them so they're chunky little monkeys.

The boys wish to thank Pixie for taking them in and their old owner who was absolutely lovely and had spoilt them rotten for bringing them to me. They came with an absolute bundle of stuff all of which will be used and nicely matches the cage liner I made for them (no its not fleece its suedecloth which is a stay dry wicking fabric used in cloth nappies which hay happens to not stick to).
 
They are gorgeous! I wish you could keep them! How sad that they had to be rehomed as they were obviously so well looked after.
 
Its quite probable we will keep them just not guaranteed (well who am I kidding, they'll only not stay if we can't get our brick shed built) but all going well I imagine we will be adopting them :)

Very calm confident piggies they've been spoiled rotten by previous owner who was absolutely lovely she stayed to settle them in their cage and watched them tuck in :)

Edit: they're getting a sack of cavy cuisine finances arent as tight :D

From the sound of it you're like me, over 50% there already. They're two lovely piggies & love the names. That reminds me, I haven't had a Parmo for ages. Maybe have to get one next week, yummy yummy.
 
I need a good parmo like I make my own :D faux chicken but close enough for me :D nommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Might go see if the lads are up for a hello :D

Two gorgeous lads. It's nice to know that they've gone from one good home to another, instead of the usual neglect story. I have to laugh at all the failed fosterers on here & you look to be joining their ranks soon!
 
They are used to handling, neither have their wheeks back yet from the move but I got a good look at them and yes they are very much boys and have nothing on them that would indicate a skin problem. Both very solidly built .... Pizza is very long! Neither have mastered the act of jumping in and out of a hay tray instead they are just pulling it out of the tray onto the suedecloth liner! Poops look ok, smaller than id like and a little soft but they were out in the run on grass most of the day before they arrived given each pig had a mountain of poops behind them when I woke up to check them they're just fine. They came with some selective pellets and some gertie guinea pig, they havent touched the muesli but the SS has been snaffled so they have some more, when we have good large boar poops rather than lady sized poops they will get their veggies back. They're not scared by humans walking nearby and "overshadowing" the cage nor are they bothered by the dog or the cat who decided to jump in with them for a touch of hay.
 
I'm glad to hear the boys are settling nicely :) I didn't know you had a cat too. how is she with all the hamsters?

Oh we got her quite young and she has grown up with them and is often in the room when we have them out for cuddles, yes shes a predator but the hams just dont trigger a response .... the rats however ... wellt hats another story! Shes fascinated by them.
 
My cat was completely un-bothered by hamsters as well, but I just thought she was a bit "special" ;)
Someone abandoned her on a block of flats roof garden, so I never knew her age, my husband just brought her home from work one day!
 
Awwww <3 ours was a friends cat who she couldn't keep due to losing her flat and having to move in with her parents whose dog hates cats plus she's timid as anything, she had a home with a friend of my friend, and my friends nana but they couldn't keep her and she was in her 4th home with us at 8 months :)

These lads aren't scared of the dog either or the handheld hoover!

Plus the suedecloth liner is amazingly easy to sweep :D we do have some calcium marks so I'll be lowering their pellet portion once they're settled in. Dettol laundry cleanse ordered (4 bottles for £8.40 on amazon, £4.50 each in tesco!)

I've been trying to find this suedecloth here but no luck. You said it was used for cloth nappies. Where did you get yours?

Oooops never mind, just found it! Interesting stuff. I might try some for their floor time instead of fleece. I use vetbed in their cage but for floor time need large volume of fabric to lay down as my Hazelnut won't walk on my tile & wood floors.

Plush addict.co.UK sell it in white :) my navy was from a diaper maker who doesn't seem to sell it anymore. Youd need to sew it into a floor mat with something like cotton with or without an absorbent in the middle :)
 
oh sod it just ordered some white grids £30 means I can use my hay loft too which works just fine for us.

haha grids are a one off, they arent getting more spent on them I just dont have enough grids to add their 2x1.5 grid sized hay loft on and its bugging me, they do have a good resale value so even if I dont use them as storage in the shed its not going to have cost me :-P the plastic ones are tatty and some are split so would only ever be temporary really. The pigs wont move into the wooden shed they'll go in the brick shed which isnt going to be done for several months ... I must say these boars are very tidy I'm sure they're doing it on purpose to try to stay indoors!

:)) They are doing just that, as soon as you relent and give them permanent residence then they will show their true colours
 
@sport_billy I have already told them that they are not staying in and will only allowed back in if we have a harsh winter .... they're not happy!
