GP Handling.

So I love both my piggies and am delighted they get along but no matter how hard I try Fez just hates being held, snuggled etc... So I have stopped holding him and just get Sweets out to be handled because he thinks he's a little lap pig and loves every second of it. Is it okay to do this? I think it just causes Fez too much stress, I have tried holding them both together and holding them seperate and on and on but Fez just hates it and has bit me one to many times and OUCH it hurts. The last one was tonight on my collar bone. Little stinker.

I do sit by the cage and pet him and he loves that and he loves being hand fed his veggies but he just hates being picked up and held, even just letting him sit on my lap he hates it so I think I will just leave him be and give him his loves while he's in the cage.

Any opinions, advice, comments? Anything would be great!
 
Actually i'd continue to pick him up and give him cuddles..... try having a blanket or towel so he can bury himself under that whilst you chat and offer him treats.
My girls still run away from me and aren't really big snugglers.... but i cuddle them everyday :)
Maybe he'll mellow as he gets older x)
 
My new piggy, coconut, does the same thing! Is your piggy old or new? If new, she could just be overwhelmed and slightly scared. What I do is take coconut straight from the cage to my shoulder. They love my shoulders!(: if she's still squealing, I take her down, pet her in a way that makes her purr, give her some carrot nibbles, and put her back up there. Then, she is so comfy that she doesn't squeal anymore, and loves it!(: hope y advice can help you! (: good luck with your little booger ;)

Thanks Glynis, I'll keep at it :) Maybe wear a whole body suit that's bite proof! :x :))

My piggy has been with me for two months now :) He's very settled in and my first piggy who was a lone boar for 4 months is very loving and always giving kissies and loves. If I put my Fez on my shoulder he just bites me. I will continue to get him out and snuggle him though! Thanks!
 
keep an eye on him........as he goes to nibble say NO not too loudly tho......i do this with the girls and it works! :))

Fez no more nibbling your lovely mummies fingers! :p

Youre welcome! As said before, keep handling(: Fez will get used to it eventually I'm sure! Remember to sorta distract fez with food or toys when you take him out, and try different petting "styles" to make him purr! My piggies personally purr when I gently caress their backs, for a while, from the end of their tooshies, to the back if their heads in a speedy manor(: hope I could help and good luck!(:

Oh I have tried that, he ignores me. Sweets got the hint though (he was a meanie head too) but he just kisses now.
