As it's Guinea Pig Awareness Week, The Anniversary Herd thought it would be fun to run a Baking Competition to raise money for The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue. The Baking Competition is to see who can make a biscuit look the most like their guinea pig. All competition for entries will open tonight at 7pm and will end on Sunday evening at 7pm. All the entries will then go to a vote on Monday.

Entry is 50pence per photo max 2 photos each. Please donate on the Potteries website using the link below using the donate button.

Welcome to The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue,a safe haven in North Staffordshire

Then post your photos on this post and confirm you have donated.

There is no monetary prize or any physical prize awarded in this competition. However the winner of the competition will receive .......

1. Your Photo will be featured on our Facebook and Instagram pages
2. Your 'User Title' for April/May will be 'Guinea Pig Photo Comp Winner!'
3. You shall have bragging rights over all others on the forum!
4. The winning photo will go into a sticky thread in the Stories & Photo's section for everyone to see and the forum gallery!
5. The Winning Photo shall adorn the forum sidebar for a month!

How great is that?!

Rules ...
1. Each person can have 2 pictures entered each. (We will have another thread showing off any extras!)
2. The photo must be a baked biscuit copy of one of your Guinea Pigs

Have fun baking and creating, folks.

Not sure if I’m brave enough to attempt this! I’m sure mine are going to look like a five year old made them. Haha
That's fine - just say they were made by a 5 year old - no one will know!

I just need to work out how to make a biscuit that looks like a brown agouti

My Mum always says you can’t be bored if you are busy. Strikes me that @Nuggettheguineapig just needs to find something to keep them self busy and then they won’t be bored.
My Granny always used to say that boring people are bored. I'm sure you're not boring though @Nuggettheguineapig! You can always cuddle a piggy or find something to do around the house.

Maybe they should ask their Mum for something to do around the house.
I love it when my kids offer to do something like that, and then she and her Mum could bake guinea pig biscuits together for the competition ;)

I have warned the OH that we‘ll be baking piggie shaped cookies at the weekend - he looks absolutely thrilled 😂
I told the OH that I’d be making GP biscuits and he said I hope you’re not expecting me to be Guinea Pig, he knows all about my baking disasters 🙄 I have actually set lettuce on fire

I’m going out tomorrow to find something edible to create eyes and some type of furry texture (well not actual fur) I’ll know what it is when I find it 🤔

A grass tip for piping frosting might work for a furry texture.

Thank you, now I’m a little uncertain about how to achieve it. Enlighten please, last time I piped icing was my sons Caterpillar cake, he now 39 😆 it looked great, then I managed to drop a plate from the shelf above where it sat waiting to add the candles :yikes: It tasted nice but looked like someone had trodden on it!

I haven't done it myself personally, but I remember watching my mom decorate cakes when she had a cake decorating business. I included a video that shows how to use the grass tip with buttercream icing.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone's dessert that they are making!

Wow that’s amazing! Thank you, I have some icing cones so I will have a look, not sure if there is one like that? I did have one with a very small hole which might work if not, they are old tin ones that a great auntie gave me a long time ago x
