My piggies are currently having a mixture of Vitakraft Emotion Sensitive pellets and Bunny Guinea Pig Dream Basic pellets. I find that the Vitakraft pellets are affecting my pig who has suspected Interstitial Cystitis. However, both my piggies love them but as they have been discontinued I have been gradually adding some of the Bunny pellets into their bowls. They were interested in them at first, but now they won't touch them. One of my girls also has a very sensitive stomach and currently only has a very small amount of veg each day. I just wondered if anyone could recommend any other grain-free pellets which would be suitable for them? Thank you.

You could try pellet free? As long as they get a good balance of veggies and plenty of hay, then that should be fine. I am nearly pellet less (only feed for a treat as they love them now), and they get a variety of hays and veggies. Usually I have a big bag of really good quality timothy hay and meadow hay. But I also sometimes buy green oat hay, rose hay, etc. And they also get those bags of mixed dried hay/flowers - I found some in £Stretcher which just has green oat hay, marigolds, carrot pieces, peppermint etc, they love it and it's all natural.

The JR Grainless ones from Zooplus went down better than Bunny with my boys. They weren't a massive success though.

Mine dont like any pellets that I have tried (burgess excel with mint and grainless from zooplus) so I am going to give them less and give them more types of hay and herbs. The adore veg. which I hand feed them.

I would love my girls to be pellet-free but Poppy, who has digestive issues, can hardly eat any veggies. The most she can eat is a couple of sprigs of coriander and a small piece of cucumber twice a day. She gets soft poos with any other veggies. I've had to reduce their pellets, because of Lily who has IC and that has really helped her. Your piggies sound like they have a really good diet.

I tried those with Lily and my girl Rose, who passed away last year. They didn't seem to like them very much, although they were like that with the Vitakraft pellets at first. I haven't tried them again with Lily and my new girl Poppy, as they contain apple and some other ingredients which might not be good for digestive issues. I've now bought the Versele Laga grain-free pellets, but i haven't tried them yet as Poppy has been having a few soft poos, so I'm waiting for her stomach to settle.

We started with Bunny pellets (they are the pellet of choice here in Switzerland) and frankly none of my lot ate them.
We switched to the Vitakraft Emotion, which everyone loved, but then they were discontinued.
We are now on a mix of Versel Laga Cavia Complete (grain free) which all 4 of them LOVE, and I also add in a couple of Vitakraft Complete pellets (not grain free) so we have an alternative.

I'm going to try the Versele Laga Cavia with them this week. I'm nearly running out of the Vitakraft pellets, so I hope they like them. I can imagine that Poppy will like them, she liked the Bunny ones at first, but got bored of them quickly. With Lily I have to wet pellets, make a paste and smear it onto her veg for her to get used to them. She will be upset when there's no more Vitakraft pellets.
