Grass In Pots Question

I have grown some grass in pots for Edward and Mrs Simpson and just wanted to ask a couple of things.
1.Is it best to let it grow till its quite long or can I use it when its young?
2.when I have cut it for them do I let it grow again or throw it away and start again?

You can let it grow again if you are giving it to them in the pot just make sure you fish it back out before they get down to soil or it might not grow back!

They can eat it young but if you want it to re-grow it might be better to wait until it gets a little hardier
