I wonder if I let mine have too much grass. Is it something I should only give sparingly?

Some of you know that, as I have no garden, I have grass posted up from Cornwall ;D I tend to give it at each meal when I have any in. Do you think that is too much?

I don't think that's too much hun :)

My lot only go out in the garden ever 2-3 days cos it's hotter out than in and they mow the lawn each time!

Think if you notice them not finishing it all or if they seem bloated/have tummy ache then lay off it a bit :)

No, I agree with Kelly. It is not too much, mine get a huge handful every day where possible. I think the general guideline is be more sparing with new spring grass after a bit of a winter famine as that can upset their tummies.
Posted from Cornwall? ;D
Does it stay fresh in the post?
I don't have a garden either and grow mine in troughs outside and pick it from peoples front gardens if it looks nice and lush...I'm only helping them keep their grass short ;D ;D

Their natural diet is grass, its just the Rye thats a bit rich for them, but is by no means 'bad' for them :) Timothy and Orchard are better, Cereal Grasses are easy to grow.

Thanks guys :)

The boys would certainly be pissed off if I cut down their rations. ;D

Yes, it does keep well in the post. My mother and my grandad hand pick it most days and post it up ;D ;D ;D The boys have so many fans ;D ;D ;D

Lucinda you lucky thing fresh grass from cornwall you could start a business ! ;)

Mine are ALWAYS hungry for grass -- which is awful because I have patio and decking! If grass grows between the cracks of the patio, and the run is over the top, they get straight at it! I've read somewhere that grass is their normal diet, so I think they know when they don't want any more :)
