Is there a specific grass that can be given to Guinea Pigs are can any grass grown outside be feed to them? We have pleanty of grass growing around and alot of it looks like that rubbery rough meadow long type that i see cows eating...can i hand cut it and give it to my pigs? Is there anything in particular i should look out for?

Please do not feed any grasses with sharp edges. They are high in silica and injure the tongue. Otherwise, any grass is OK. Make sure that it hasn't peed on by dogs and foxes.

yea i live in Australia, can only use introduced grass (which is everywhere luckily) i find when hand harvesting, grab small bunches at a time to pull or cut, and add to a bigger bundle in the other hand, that way you can tell if its sharp, or hard. and its easier to remove sticks, leaves and seeds that trees drop.
