on the advice of the vet i went and picked some grass and what i think is danelion leafs and some blackberry bush leaves i had my partner my mum and dad all pointing out what was what and the pigs seem to like it but I'm scared its the wrong stuff ahh
i had cat grass seeds which is wheat grass can guinea pigs eat that so i can grow my own then there is no worries

yes but the pigs loved them strange i know but when i collected monkey from the vets last week he had raspberry leaves and they were prickly too

I don't know about wheat grass but I can't see there being any problem.

Grass, any wild grass, should be fine as long as there are no pesticides or it's not from, say, a carpark or something where it could be contaminated with whatever chemicals....

Dandelion is also fine maybe once a week (one or two leaves each) and actually has quite high levels of vitamin C. Too much can cause problems but it's generally fine. It will turn your piggies' pee brown/orange which is fine and normal so don't be shocked :)

I have no idea about the chemical makeup of blackberry leaves and, when in any doubt, I avoid anything I don't know about. It's just safer that way. Sorry I can't be more helpful

hello no thats really helpful they hand dandelion last night and the pee was orange and i was shocked lol so thanks for letting me know

So is it ok to grow those grow quick grass boxes for cats for them?
I can't get any grass here if not.

It's difficult to find any detailed information on this product. I've never seen it before but then I don't look at cat stuff in the shop.

Without being able to look at the back of the box, I can't say. In which case, my advice would be not to feed this until you know it's safe. It's also going to be fairly expensive this way isn't it?

Don't you have any green areas near you? That's a real shame if so. Sorry I can't help more but if I see this product next time I go to the pet shop, I'll check it out.

Where are you based? Readigrass might be an alternative if you can find a stockist.

I am in North-east Spain. Grass is seen on some public areas (which is illegal to pull out!) and some people have it in their garden, but it needs so much water, that it's very expensive to have.

I will see if I can find the readigrass. If not, I will see if I can get it online and sent from the UK. Thanks.

Oooh that's a tough one. I kow there are a lot of water issues in Spain so I can imagine getting hold of fresh grass is a bit of an issue.

I don't know if these places will ship to Spain but you could ask. It's usually quite cheap so these prices are ok.

Readigrass isn't as good as fresh grass of course but it's a good supplement that you can mix in with their hay.
