So I've been prowling around Galen's Garden and I love love loooooove the idea of graze trays, especially in the winter when the pigs can't really go outside in the run. But I can't really find any info on these anywhere else. I'm already growing herbs in pots so they can have a little parsley/basil/etc. over the winter, but does anybody here use graze trays or something similar in their cages?

If so, do you leave them in all the time, just put them in occasionally, swap them round, what? I'm thinking of keeping one or two plain grass ones, maybe a cereal grass one, and a dandelion one, and swapping them round. Obviously the dandelion one would only go in for a few hours once a week or something, but I would think the normal grass one would pretty much live in the cage, unless it would be too much of a distraction from their hay..? And how often can pigs have cereal grasses like these?

Oooh thanks for that site! I have favourited it ;)

I get my grass seed trays from here http://thistlecavies.tripod.com/shop/ but it looks like they've stopped doing them? ?/

Mine tend to demolish them in minutes though rolleyes

Awww, haha! Yeah, I suppose they don't last long enough to really live in there permanently, huh?

Anyone know about the cereal grasses?

On a similar note, I bought a "living salad" today, first time I've seen these. Probably not such an issue for those with multiple pigs, but with just one at the minute, he never gets through a head of lettuce before it loses some freshness, even getting a few leaves every day, so I love this. Link, including where to buy, varieties, etc!
