Ok so my piggy has grease build up in his fur on his greeds gland, how do I get this off without making him too wet and cold?

Rub in a bit of warm olive oil and massage in, leave for ten minutes then shampoo and rinse. Try not to soak the piggie too much, just try and do back end. My two are really bad, never had a problem with any other piggies, just these two?

Yes I won’t lie I’ve had piggies in the past and never knew about grease glands until now, how do I dry his backside after? I don’t want to leave him wet
Thank you

Well Bill and Ted let me blow dry them on a cool setting, after a good towelling. They are not keen but I don’t put them back until they are dry ish. Keep them in a warm room though till they are fully dry at this time of the year x

Do you think they’d be ok if I left it til tomorrow I used a warm flannel to wash some off and a clump came off but there’s still quiet abit! It’s all his fur but I don’t have any piggie shampoo til I can get to pets at home

Hi! Please follow the tips in our boar care guide. We recommend using coconut oil for removal, as it is the most gentle on the skin.
Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

Your piggies are fine with a dry towel and a warm, but not hot snugglesafe indoors for drying off if they don't like a hair dryer on the most gentle and only slightly warm setting (which many hate).

Won’t that be just as greasy? I use coconut oil
On my hair and have to use very hot water to get it out?

I think the oil is supposed to break down the grease? I think that’s how it works, my boys have very greasy butts so it’s never 100% successful!

Tommy does too! I brought piggy shampoo today and tried just giving him a shampoo but it’s not really done anything so I’m going to try the coconut oil tomorrow
