My Sorrell had a growth on his grease gland, and went in for surgery to remove it on Thursday. In fact the vet has removed the whole gland (and saved it for us to see - very strange looking - it's been sent away for analysis). I am curious to know how vital the grease gland is? I know its purpose, but will it make a difference to him now not having one? I must say the wound is incredibly neat and tidy, and Sorrell is doing extremely well - apparently while he was still coming around from the (light) anaesthetic they put some veg in front of his nose and he sleepily ate it at once. That's my boy ...... Any thoughts would be most welcome please.
