Grease Gland

My two boys don't seem to have a problem with their grease gland is this ok. I keep their bottoms clean and my texel well trimmed around that area. Am I missing something ? X

No you're not missing anything, we have 7 boars and it is only occasionally we need to clean any of them... Grease glands that is.. x

Grease glands are very individual. Some boars suffer more than others, and not everypig is affected the same all the time, either! By the way, some sows can occasionally have got grease gland trouble, too, but it is generaly much rarer.

Peanut Butter's rarely needs cleaning & he has more hair than Hazelnut in that area. Hazelnut, on the other hand could use a grease gland clean out every 2 weeks!
