Hey I done a lot of research on guinea pigs and I am still quite confused about the grease glands. I have adopted two young guinea pigs recently and was wondering if I should worry about their gland, I heard girls glands are not as bad as boys. And if they do need to be cleaned how does one do that. Also what age should I start to worry about the gland? My guinea pigs are around 11 weeks.

I find boys have a more active grease gland than girls. My 2 boys have very noticeable grease glands and one in particular has to has his cleaned regularly.I use swarfega to clean but I’ve heard coconut oil is also good.
