Hi, I have a neutered long haired boar, hes about 4yrs old (unknown age at adoption). Hes a fairly big boy 1.307kg and very long haired. Hes not long had a trim but his hair feel greasy and really thick. I regularly check and degrease his gland which is never really clumpy when i do, but still odd he feels greasy x hes become very irratable when brushed. Hes never been a fan near his rear but whenever i brush him he gets very annoyed and kicks or headbutts to stop you doing it. Just wonderig if something else is going on?

Have him checked for a mild fungal skin infection; it can make hair feel greasy.
Alternatively too frequent cleaning of the grease glad can also contribute to activating it. Not all active grease glands clog up.

Thats great thank you. Its not that often i do it, probably once wvery 3.months as it really doesn't get clogged but i keep his rear end quite short to help x am taking them for another check up next week so ill get them to check skin just incase thanks x
