Hello, hoping to convert my ggreenhouse to a piggie house, we did this when i was a kid, is it safe? are foxes and badgers crazy enought to headbut it till glass breaks? And what about sun?

I think a greenhouse would be too cold in winter and far too hot in summer - guineas don't do well with extremes of temperature. A shed or outbuilding would be far better.

I would have thought the temperatures would be too extreme also.

A couple of days ago I heard about someone who had guineas in a hutch in their greenhouse, last week during the cold snap we had, both died during the night. Hope this answers your question.

That's so sad Fi! Yes I think a Greenhouse would be too extreme in temp conditions. A shed would be better. I had all mine in the shed but this cold snap has made me have a rethink and I brought them all in until the nights get a tad warmer. :)

Just found out that dad did something to the greenhouse when we were younger that made it safe, unless he can do it again, i wont use it.

I agree. I think that the amount of glass would accumulate the heat when the sun is out and bring in the cold at other times of year.

i'm not sure but i think parts were boarded but i havent asked him yet but they were happy and healthy as larry and i hear larry is a very happy lad.

i would have thought if you boarding the inside or maybe put something to reflect the heat back out again it might be ok but i wouldnt want to risk it. A greenhouse is designed to be a hot and humid place in the summer and i cant imagine a piggy liking it too much!
