Any advice please. He is eating/drinking and generally seems ok. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Has he had a chance to say good bye to his friend? Leaving the body in the cage for a few hours can make all the difference, allowing the one left behind to move on. If he's on his own, I'd look into getting him a friend. A lot of the rescues on here do boar dating, so it's not impossible to get him a friend. Where are you?

I am sorry for you loss! Give him time to mourn. Most piggies become withdrawn for a few days.

The best way to make your boy happy is to find a rescue that will allow you to take him for a round of "boar dating" at a rescue that offer this service, so he can choose a new mate based on mutual liking and character compatibility and you won't end up with two separated boars.

Whereabouts are you located? It is really worth going the extra mile for the added stability. You will be amazed to see your boy suddenly come to life again and have that sparkle back!

I would also recommend boardating, it definitely gave Wally Whiskers a second lease of life and it's better for them to choose their own friend rather than us picking one for them. x

Yes he had chance to say goodbye.

I know its selfish but I'm not ready to rebond him. I keep rebonding my piggies and losing one and it feels like a vicious circle.

I also lost a much loved bunny after a long battle with illness this weekend so its all a bit much.
