On Wednesday I lost my piggy Sparky I am devastated he was an amazing wee pig proper hyper and in your face I miss him so much, so does his cage mate Scampy whose been with him since 5 weeks old. Right now I can not even consider getting another piggy but I also need to think of Scampy he's 18 months and like a bull in a China shop he's a really heavy chunky lad and I really don't think a babe would be a good plan but I am also in a huge amount of doubt over whether he would even take to another pig as he constantly argued and rumble strutted sparky at times I had to seperate them just to get scamp to leave him alone as I said right now I can't even consider it but long term I might be able too and I need to think of Scamps needs too

Please don't feel bad about the prospect of having a friend for Scampy in the future. You will be doing it for him.

I am so very sorry that you have lost a very special boy!

PS: I know that it is very hard to think about the needs of your bereaved boy right now; but if you let him choose his new friend himself, it will leave your free to grieve properly for Sparky and bond with Scampy's new mate as and when you are ready, knowing that he is taken care of.

Thank you for your lovely replies, I am still missing him so much and I still can't even begin to consider another piggy-it would feel so wrong but I have to seperate my feelings from the needs of Scampy I always strive to put my pets needs first he's so unhappy on his own I have contacted Layla, she has been so helpful but I still don't feel able to consider another piggy.
 
I cannot blame you. It feels too much to deal with while you are grieving. I can understand that. It is also to lose a piggy. It totally breaks your heart. I lost my special girl on Thursday. It really leaves a hole inside you. I am so sorry you have to go through this.

If you really feel this way then just wait until you feel ready and give your loan piggy lots of love and attention.
