I came home from work today, and my boys water bottle (a glass, living world one) was green inside?!
It's not been like this before, and I do clean it out twice a week with boiling hot water.
Does anyone else have this problem?
How do you clean/get rid of it?!
I'm really worried it's gonna harm them, so atm they have a water bowl, but they're not too keen to drink out of it.

:)

Have you got a bottle brush, there awesome for getting dirt of the inside ? (:

You can use baby bottle sterilising fluid diluted with water and soak the bottles in it for about an hour then Rinse

Nooo, thats a really good idea actually haha.
I'll buy one tomorrow!

I wonder why it went green in the first place :{

Those bottles are evil to clean...!

Half fill with water and put some rice in there and shake it lodes... For ages...!

It gets all the grunge from the many crevices these bottles have... Then give it a blast in some Milton afterwards... :)
And you'll have lovely shiney water bottles... :)

Have you got it in direct sun light? It might have gone green because of that. Sunlight/light can cause green water and algae.

Should be fine to clean with a bottle brush and maybe if it is direct light then you could maybe move it to a different part of the cage.

I dont use rice I use that twirly pasta, and sort of dance round the kitchen with it gets the green out and gives everyone a laugh!

I've been wondering why the boy's bottles have got so green recently when they never have before, makes sense considering it's been so sunny here recently and the bottles been in direct sunlight :red
I thought my bottle was just getting ... ill ? i don't know ")

I use the rice method too.

However don't shake it with the spout attached otherwise you'll just get bits of rice clogging it up, just cover the bottle opening with kitchen roll.

Shake shake :)

When I clean my bottles every two days, I use a bottle brush. If it gets really bad I use rice. I don't leave my bottles in the sun, but I never knew it would turn green!

Baby sterilising works brilliant on the plastic ones, not sure on the glass ones? You only need a small amount in the water and rinse thoroughly.
