Hello, on the 3rd September my eldest guinea pig milo age 5 & half years passed away from a siezure in my arms, anyway I have nelly here she’ll be 3 in March she is moping around she is definitely not her normal self, I don’t know if she’s eating or drinking less as I have 3 other girls, her poop is a lot smaller, I got her favourite treats and she hardly touched them, she’s grinding her teeth there is nothing wrong with her peggies, her back is arched like a ball, her neck and stomach is swollen up so I rushed her to the vets, they have given her 1/4 water tablets twice a day, loxicom 0,5 once a day and baytril 0,2.5 twice a day, they checked her over and said her heart isn’t pumping normally as it should, she has a infection and possibly liver damage, daily life is I check on them every morning for food and water, I sterilise there water, I give them cucumbers and red bell peppers, Timothy hay, I clean their bedroom once every 2 days, they have a mixture off nuggets and pellets, and we all have cuddles until they keep moving because they need to pee.. is there any advice anyone can give me wether it’s medical, general, is there any changes I could make, is there something I’m not already doing and how to make her comfortable, nelly keeps grinding her teeth is really making me upset even though she has pain relief she’s still grinding her teeth... the vets have advised me to do multiple tests on her and I’m looking at minimum of £300 if I had that kind off money trust me I would pay it because they are my babies 🐹💞 but unfortunately all I can do is make them comfortable and pain free as much as possible

@kkewharding94 From your description it sounds like she's having some gut issues, possibly even bloat.

Would it be possible for you to try a different vet for a second opinion.

Grinding teeth can be a sign of pain.

That’s exactly what I think it is bloat, I’ll ring some different vets in the morning, she has a appointment on Monday for a check up I’ll mention it to them. Thank you so much for getting back to me

Lost my little nelly boo yesterday morning 😭😭💔💔
