My piggie Tiger is a mix breed Sheltie so he has a tuft on his head then long hair on his back. He is a real wriggler and I have trouble getting him to stay still while I try to brush and trim his hair - even with bribes of parsley! I have got to know when he wants to get down off my knee and always let him go as I don't want him to associate being cuddled with having his hair combed, which he hates, but I really need to brush/trim his hair - any advice?!

my tiger sounds the exact copy of your one he too hates his coat groomed but what I do is wrap a fleece round him then stick his rear end out and gently tease out any knots and then gently brush, he feels secure and as long as i am careful he is fine, then when done the rear do the front same way

What Michelle said sounds like a good solution to me. Also, if you can get someone to help you, you may be able to have him held and cuddled by one person and groomed by another. That way he may see it as being loved up as opposed to being groomed.
