I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum/sub forum.

As some of you know i picked up my new piggie yday.

I know piggies need bathing, when would i be best doing her first one? I'm just very aware she has came from a pet shop and wondered if she has ever had one?

Also will it be obvious to me when her nails need clipping? i will be doing it myself. We use to have a cockateal/s and i use to clip their nails so assuming its kinda the same?

I'm so sorry about all the questions.

How old is your piggie? You shouldn't really bath very young piggies and piggies only need bathing when it is absolutely necessary as guinea pigs are quite good at keeping themselves clean. Hope that helped a bit x
 
She is approx 9 months.

I dont know if thats still classed as a baby, or toddler or teenager.

Iv so much to learn but very eager.
 
Well I don't think she's still classed as a baby at 9 months old so it should be ok to bath her but only when you think she really needs it
 
I very much doubt she will have ever been bathed, i only ever bathe pigs when necessary as they don't tend to like baths, i comb mine once a week with a little dog comb. The nails you will know when they need cutting, only ever take the edge off though and let it settle for a couple of days to allow the quick to recede before taking off a little more :)
 
You do not need to bath her. With her nails what colour are they?
 
Ok, i wont bathe her unless i absolutley HAVE to.

As for her nails, I'm unsure on the colour i will look tomorrow and get back to you x
