that does look good, I know someone posted a link before to a rescue site that does trays and some of the funds supports the rescue as well, can't remember who it was now

I have dandelion seeds......I have a tortoise and in the summer he just clears the garden out and then there is none for Bertie!

I believe that it is recommended that trays are replaced after three cuts?!

Oh really?! Damn it, why doesn't it say this on the cover! mallethead

Do you know why? I'll throw mine out now then!

Becks - yup you just water it and it grows!

I recall purchasing a similar product a few years ago. . . If I remember correctly, the manufacturer recommended that the product be replaced after three cuts due to the loss of nutrients - I did question whether the manufacturer was advising customers to replace their product after three cuts to increase sales, and their profit margin! However, after three cuts, the product did begin to yellow, and the growth rate, and density was not nearly as impressive! However, perhaps, a more green-fingered member could provide some information on how to prevent the need for replacement?!

I grow wheat grass for my girls. I buy organic wheat berries at our bulk food store, put some potting soil and perlite in square seed trays, plant the seeds, water and put them in a sunny window. It takes about 7 - 10 days to grow before I cut it. The only problem I am having is I am getting some mold on the soil. I have read this won't hurt anyone. Just in case I don't put the container in the cage, I cut it off higher up and wash it well. The girls really enjoy this treat. I am not sure on the vit. C or calcium content of wheat grass.

I did this for rex (rip) I think I had about 20 trays in rotation but he ate them so fast the grass couldn't keep up with growing :L

For the replacements after 3 cuts is a bit silly, the grass just needs some fertiliser for new nutrients.
