I am quite pleased with myself. I have planted romaine lettuce seeds, bell pepper seeds and raddish seeds and they have all germinated. They are indoors at the mo til they get big enough. I also have green bean seeds, but will be planting those a bit later cos my garden isn't ready yet. Has anyone ever grown their own veg? I have a bit, but any tips would be welcome please. :)
Thanks. x

I'm currently growing dill. its in my kitchen. its going well at the moment but i cant even see it doing enough for one portion for my piggies lol. good luck with your veg growing x

Yes I'm growing my own. Just started off leeks and tomatoes indoors and have a lovely crop of onions I planted in the autumn in a raised bed. I have a greenhouse but it's not heated. I'll put the tomatoes in there later on.

Do you have a big garden, or like me, a small one? :)

I am keen to grow my own but haven't go anywhere to grow things yet! I'm aiming for lettuces, peppers and cucumbers...coriander and tomatoes too if possible then I don't need to buy from the supermarket at all. :))

I'm growing Parsley and also going to grow never ending lettuce. :)

I love gorwing veggies for the furries. I grow corriander, parsley, carrots, rocket, mixed salad leaves and toms :)) Some years they can be better than others lol

we have an allotment and try to grow a lot for the furries. As they;re all house bunnies and piggies I also grow them their own grass! but also their herbs. At the allotment we grow carrots for them

also I forgot that I;d planted some ruby chard at the end of the summer and o/h tells me that it's blooming now:) so that's a bonus!

I'm going to try to grow spring greens this year (well, I;ll plant them this year and hopefully they'll come up next year!)

.....thanks for the reminder about romaine lettuce, I always forget to grow that for the piggies, we grow a lot of everyday lettuce but not romaine!

I love home grown veggies and it;s nice that the animals can also have organic food as well, without it costing a fortune!

good luck with what you grow, it;s great fun!
xx

I'm growing beans, carrots, broc, cherry toms, spinach, radishes, lettuces (several types) peppers, peas strawberris & herbs. Keep them well watered. I do not have a large garden & grow them all in tubs & pots on the patio & edge of the garden. The house is rented & the garden is well established but atleast what I grow will feed my girls, oh & me. its all good fun & I love being able to pick the piggies & us really good fresh food with no chemicals on them good luck with your veggies :))

Gosh what a lot of gardeners out there. Not sure what a never ending lettuce is Lou :{ I have never been successful with broccoli, it produced one little thin stem with a brocolli head of about the size of a 2p piece. Any advice on that would be good. (don't know how to spell it or grow it :(|)
My garden is really small, but it's amazing how much will fit in. I think I will have a go at herbs in big pots as well cos my piggies will love them.
I just hope my seed trays can get established before the cat thinks its a litter tray with lovely fresh soil in. rolleyes She has been threatened. xx

I have to grow alot in pots too :)) I have a large garden but my dogs seem to tread on the veggies ! They dont seem to bother with the plants though rolleyes I buy the potted herbs from Tesco and then plant them out and they really do flourish. Good luck !

I grew some herbs last year and they are now so large i have them in big pots on my window sill.
my parsley took ages to establish but its not the biggest, and my corriander plants are only babies :))
good luck with the grow!

My dad has grown red peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes and they grew pretty well.
I planted some onion, beetroot, califlower, and carrot bulbs. The carrots were chardonney ones I think and they were nice and sweet. The beetroots were deformed :)) and the onions haven't comes up at all. Califlower is still growing...slowly.
I am going to grow some veggies again this year hopefully. There's a huge collection of veggie bulbs in Wilkinson's at the moment, so may buy some from there.

l too grow my own. l grow a lot of herbs, runner beans, blueberries, tomatoes, peppers, and also going to try and grow cucumbers this year too!

mother, considering broCCoLi was my favourite food as a child, you should know how to spell it!

Come and plant stuff in my garden :-) although nutmeg and doughball will probably fight you for the crop! :p
