Growing grass

Do you use a particular grass if you want to grow some trays of grass for the piggies? The grass outside isnt great now so I wanted to grow .... or can you buy it ready grown in trays!

You can buy it dried if thats any good. You cna buy seeds and do it in trays but to me it just seems like too much work. I think Wheekers World do it if you google it. :)

My mate does grass, but not the green kind! I was excited when he told me as I thought he meant the stuff for the pigs and buns! mallethead
 
You can get it from Karen at Reading GP Rescue her site is Planet Guinea http://www.planetguinea.co.uk/. I had a free sample which I got when we went to the RGPR fund raising day. Having just grown it my lot absolutely loved it; the only downside is that they recommend you only give them the first cut, because any following growth is a bit "yellow". It took about 10-14 days to grow on my window sill. I have to admit I did continue to water it to see what would happen and we have a little bit of new growth but nowhere near as impressive as the first.
